Abstract
Since its enacting, in 1947, efforts for reinterpreting Japan’s pacifist Constitution occasionally were seen. Almost after 70 years, Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe realized that intention. Amending theArticle 9 of Japan’s Constitution extends the scope of right to self-defense to include the defense of an ally under attack. Authors will give their opinion on possible implications of this reinterpretation.
