In an increasingly interconnected world, strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation is a condition sine qua non not only for securing sustainable development, but also for addressing various newly emerging challenges. Although both the People’s Republic of China and the EU represent significant actors in international relations, both of them highly value cooperation with other countries and/or international organizations. In spite of having certain disagreements, those two entities succeeded in developing their mutual relations. But, the core question is if and how their cooperation will further develop facing the pandemic as a new type of challenge.
