Abstract
In this study, authors attach great importance to the theoretical examination of the relationship between the concepts of globalisation and “the New World Order”. Efforts to democratise international relations after the Second World War led to the intensified determination of the international community to resolve in a new manner the question of progress of mankind, which is connected to the solution of the crucial problems in the sphere of international politics, economics, social and humanitarian relations. Because of the inherited global problems, reflected in the irreconcilable aspirations of developed and developing countries, unadjusted interests of North and South, relations between large and small states, in general because of the immaturity of political and social conditions, the influence of political opportunism in international relations was strongly felt so that the world reached now the crossroads where it should decide, whether it will go through the development of democracy and the rule of law or it will stop at the “relativism” of the international legal order. With regard to the continuity of international relations, one can only assume that the international community, through the process of globalization, can succeed in upgrading the existing international system by achieving universal social progress and improving general living conditions.
