Abstract
The point of the article is focused to examine the institutional efficiency and effectiveness of small states in the process of reaching security resilience and economic sustainability in the ongoing international and European flows. The main thesis of the paper would be that institutional infrastructure of small states plays a major role in reaching above mentioned national goals. The research would include a focused academic survey related to the relations between intuitionalism, from one side and security resilience and economic sustainability, from the other side. The leading research question would be: What are the resources for sustainability and resilience of small and weak states in the present circumstances of international relations. From theoretical perspective, authors will use different realistic approaches to explain both, why small states have limited foreign policy, including security and economic opportunities and how small states could perform independent foreign, security and economic policy? The goal of the paper is to prove that institutional infrastructure is the key resource of small states for resilience and sustainability, while at the same time to prove that this kind of states have a certain “maneuvering space” for independent foreign policy activities, including security and economic.
